Phlebotomy Training Specialist - day shift

SUMMARYThis position will require a phlebotomist with strong instructional design skills, clear communication skills, and a history of successful venipuncture and customer service training of phlebotomists. The applicant should also have strong organizational and critical thinking skills.The applicant will also provide initial and ongoing training on various point of care tests. Adheres to specimen handling and specimen transport guidelines per departmental policy. Communicates effectively with all levels of the clinical staff. Works well independently with minimal supervision.JOB DUTIES* Perform AIDET assessments routinely.* Work closely with phlebotomy supervisor/manager to retrain staff when deficiency is noted.* Maintain all training records/competency records.* Act as phlebotomist when staffing concerns arise.* Perform ongoing competency testing with all phlebotomists.* Train all new hires in phlebotomy and point of care testing.QUALIFICATIONS* High School Diploma or GED required.* 3-5 years of experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting is required.* Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program is required* Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency required.* ASCP Phlebotomy Certification.Equal Opportunity Employer-Minorities/Females/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.
