Position Summary: Responsible for managing and maintaining iron room; prepare reports, memos, letters and other documents as required using MTRs, spreadsheet, word processing or presentation software; read and analyze incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine their significance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Place timely orders for iron with proper documentation
Communicate effectively with Service Supervisors and Operations Manager in order to ensure assistance to execution of the Iron Maintenance Program and SOP
Identify and communicate effectively with approved vendors to ensure appropriate supply of iron and supporting services
Manage scheduling and completion of iron inspections for both line trucks and warehouses
Effectively track inventory using management software, spreadsheets, and other documents
Manage and supervise the maintenance, inspection and certification of all Manifold Trailers
Minimize scrap iron in yard, load and sell as appropriate
Maintain proper documentation for scrap iron
Maintain appropriate level of inventory, such as hoses, fittings, clamps, hobbles and gaskets in order to effectively support District Operations
Effectively motivate and regularly direct the work of at least 2 other employees
Make recommendations to the staffing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of direct reports.
Perform other related duties as required
Educational and Other Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Some previous experience work related (preferred)
Basic computer skills including e-mail, word processing and excel spreadsheets
Good verbal and written communication skills
Operate forklift
Class A Commercial Driver's license (preferred)
Sensitive to confidential information
Must work independently and as a member of team
Must be able to work varied schedules
Essential identification skills, identifying and recognizing changes in circumstances or conditions, either work or environmental
Mental and Physical Requirements:
Able to read, speak and write English
Ability to effectively use computer software programs to achieve job function
Sitting - at desk or computer station, standing, walking, speaking, hearing - frequent
Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time
Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and Vendors
Vision - able to see the computer screen and to also check expiration dates and defects on iron
Ability to understand the inventory process and possess mathematical skills to effectively complete job
Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor
