Staff Physical Therapy Assistants are responsible for direct patient care, treating a variety of individuals based upon setting, and according to the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist. The successful candidate will exhibit strong: customer service skills, clinical skills, and patient outcomes. They must practice with high moral and professional standards and be driven toward continuous professional development. Effective time management and teamwork skills are an essential quality that will allow success in contributing to the operation of the Health System.
Duties/Responsibilities
* Practices Physical Therapy consistent with, and is knowledgeable of, the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice Guidelines as well as state laws.
* Effective time management skills including ability to meet productivity standards.
* Able to complete all documentation requirements within timelines and with high quality.
* Recognizes and properly conveys/addresses situations requiring the expertise/intervention of the Physical Therapist.
* Must show initiative and follow through in accomplishing goals.
* Supports and participates in process improvement efforts of the department and health system.
* Achieves high quality patient outcomes through continued professional development and close collaboration with Physical Therapist on patient needs.
Minimum/Required Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy
* Physical Therapy Assistant with Ohio license - or eligible to obtain license
* CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
* Valid Ohio's Driver's License and proof of insurance
Preferred Qualifications
* 1-2 years prior experience delivering direct patient care to individuals with a variety of deficits, which may include: orthopedic, neurologic, developmental, and cognitive shortfalls. Consideration will be given to new graduates with strong clinical and professional skills.
