Job Type: Full Time Summary: The Physical Therapy Assistant provides direct physical therapy care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in an outpatient orthopaedic clinic. The Physical Therapy Assistant position requires the successful completion of accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program and a current and an unrestricted Washington State Physical Therapist Assistant License. Position Duties:
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of Tri-City Orthopaedic Clinic
- Provides physical therapy treatments according to the Physical Therapists' plan of care
- Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans
- Records daily treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and completely
- Submits accurate and timely treatment charges accompanying daily chart notes
- Work and communicate respectfully and effectively with physical therapy team members including physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, physical therapy aides, front desk staff, billing/authorization staff
- Maintain clean and safe work area, exam rooms, and supplies
- Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Therapy Director, and attend meetings as requested
- Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times
- Adhere to TCO practices and regulations as described in TCO employee handbook
- Complies with the Washington State Physical Therapy Practice Act
- Perform other assigned duties and be a team player
Skills:
- Exceptional knowledge of Physical Therapy Assistant practices and principles
- Understanding of CPT coding procedures
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of EMR systems
- Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently
- Keep calm demeanor in stressful situations that may arise in healthcare
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items independently and together with team, including assisting patients when necessary
