A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (PTA)As a PTA, under the supervision of a physical therapist, you will be responsible for implementing and documenting a plan of treatment for patients of all ages.In collaboration with the Physical Therapists, assists in the development of a plan of care to promote optimal functional independence and safety as documented by clinical record.Plans for and provides skilled physical therapy treatment including, but not limited to, restorative and maintenance therapeutic techniques, patient/care giver education, etc. assessing the patient's status and progress on each visit and ensuring quality of care as documented in the clinical record. Assists in the coordination patient care with other clinical team members, including but not limited to, physicians, nurses, care givers, physical therapists, other rehab services and students, ensuring optimal patient care and communication as noted in the clinical record. Actively remains vigilant to identify and report changes in patient conditions related to prescribed plan of care, and takes action to report changes in patient status to case manager in a timely manner. Completes and coordinates required paperwork in compliance with federal and state regulations, organizational and departmental policies and standards of care and APTA guidelines to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved as evidenced in the clinical record. Qualifications:Associate's degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited university or college required. Valid Vermont State Physical Therapist Assistant license required.Prior physical therapist assistant experience preferred.Valid Driver's License.Continuing education tuition assistance for work-related courses, to eligible staffDo you enjoy helping people?
