Essential Job Functions Include:
- Assist supervising, with the licensed therapist, in overall assessment of residents.
- Assist Licensed Therapist in performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
- Carry out Resident care programs as planned and directed by Licensed Therapist.
- Carry out exercise program and train Residents in exercise, ambulation, and activities of daily living as set forth by the Licensed Therapist and Resident Care Plan.
- Observe, report, and chart Residents response to the Licensed Therapist.
- Participates in Resident, family, and staff education as needed.
- Assist with cleaning of treatment and department area.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited 2 year Therapy Assistant program.
- Must possess a current NYS License for Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Experience working with the elderly and/or in a health care setting is desirable.
- Must have knowledge of Therapy procedures.
- Must be able to advocate for seniors and families.
- Must be available for Holidays.
- Be a team player and work cooperatively with all staff in the facility.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply.)
- Must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with Residents, staff, visitors, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances.
