Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA - Full TimeA Physical Therapist Assistant implements selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner. They instruct and counsel patients in exercises, identify their individual needs, and provide compassionate and empathetic care. They also contribute to treatment planning, document patient progress, and stay updated with the latest research in the field. Ultimately, they play a crucial role in assisting patients in their rehabilitation journey.Description:Physical therapist Assistant helps patient(s) accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic activities by administering manual physical exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities as well as applying assistive and supportive quality care. PTA will assess and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation by physician(s). PTA will document patient care services by charting in patient and department records in compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Your duties will include:
- Follow Up visits home health orthopedic patients
- Continues to meet eligibility requirements for home health services
- Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.
- Driving is a requirement
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in physical therapy
- 1 year of home health experience as a physical therapist
- Currently licensed to practice as a physical therapist within the state of agency operation
and compliant with accepted professional standards and practices
- Must possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical role
- Must be a licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
