It's patient-centered care that provides a sustainable way of feeling better, moving better, breathing better, and living better.POSITION SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist Assistant student provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a LicensedPhysical Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Assistant.RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student will follow all Powerback Rehabilitation policy andprocedures outlined in the on-boarding and orientation process.2. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery ofrehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, andtimely documentation of services with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.3. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student attends and contributes to patient care, staffingconferences and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under thedirection of the physical therapist and/or Clinical Instructor.4. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student works with other members of the rehabilitation team toimplement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient withsupervision from the Clinical Instructor.5. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and/or Clinical Instructor.6. Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated with supervision from the Clinical Instructor.7. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary withsupervision from the Clinical Instructor.8. Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights withsupervision from the Clinical Instructor.9. Implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist with supervision from the Clinical Instructor.10. With the supervision of their Clinical Instructor, Physical Therapist Assistant student may provide individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to:a. Therapeutic exercise including aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination,agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait andlocomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, andendurance trainingb. Functional trainingc. Manual therapy Airway clearance techniquesd. Integumentary repair and protectione. Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities11. With the supervision of their Clinical Instructor, the Physical Therapist Assistant student willorganize and facilitate treatment utilizing the most appropriate mode of delivery with the physicaltherapist.SPTAJOB SKILLS:1.
