POSITION:

Physical Therapist

REQUIREMENTS:

NYS Licensed Physical Therapist. Excellent clinical skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form are imperative. Must be flexible and able to work effectively with other professionals. The ability to function as a positive member of the educational team must be evident. Must be a current full time Nassau BOCES Physical or Occupational Therapist.

DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Coordinators of OT/PT Services shall:

1. Provide therapy services for students on assigned caseload (percentage to be determined).

2. Function as onsite clinical resource for OT/PT staff by sharing knowledge and clinical techniques.

3. Provide clinical supervision of therapy students during internship at Nassau BOCES.

4. Serve as a liaison between the Coordinator of OT/PT and the therapists working in their building. This includes maintaining lists of students on waiting list for evaluations and/or treatment as well as knowledge of which students are being provided therapy and the therapist providing such service.

5. Participate in the budget process working cooperatively with the building therapists and submitting recommendations of their group of therapists to the building principal and OT/PT Coordinator for their review.

6. Provide clinical assistance to certified Therapy Assistants as needed.

7. All other duties assigned by the Coordinators of OT/PT Services.
