Schedule:The PT role will be a PRN position, being scheduled as needed between the hours of Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Total hours each week will vary.The PT will perform home-based evaluations throughout Chester County, Pennsylvania for children ages 0-3. Mileage is reimbursed at the federal rate (currently 67 cents per mile). This is a hybrid role as the MDE Teacher may utilize their home office as needed, and the role will require some travel to Chester, PA where the main office is located.POSITION SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist (PT) on the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDE) assesses a child's physical development (e.g. gross motor and fine motor skills) and other developmental areas including, but not limited to, cognitive, social/emotional, adaptive/self-help, sensory processing, and behavior. The PT works with other members of the MDT to ensure that the evaluation report (ER) documents all assessment findings including, but not limited to, a thorough description of child's strengths and weaknesses in all areas of development for the purpose of determining program eligibility and developing individualized goals, specially designed instruction, and recommendations for a developmentally-appropriate individual family service plan (IFSP) and early intervention (EI) services.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts standardized assessments
- Conducts Multi-Disciplinary Evaluations (MDE) collaboratively with other MDT members
- Works collaboratively with MDT members when writing and editing the Evaluation Report (ER)
- Determines child's eligibility for preschool special education service based on the state's criteria
- Develops child's developmentally-appropriate Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- Consults and collaborates with parents, team members, school faculty, and other school/funding agencies
- Participates in regular staff meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with certification in Physical Therapy; Bachelor's Degree required
- Experience administering preschool standardized assessments preferred
- IEP experience, including demonstrated experience in planning, writing and implementation of IEP's, progress monitoring, positive behavior supports preferred
- Experience communicating with families, formally and informally, including engaging families in their child's educational program preferred
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to children, staff, parents and guardians
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge and application of Chapter 14 regulations and requirements preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental disabilities and learning styles
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
