Job Summary The Physical Therapist III shall be responsible for:
- Demonstrating expert level of clinical reasoning with physical therapy services provided within assigned service/specialty area, including care of patients with complex, rare and/or multiple dysfunctions. Performing diagnostic evaluations upon referral and in accordance with departmental and professional guidelines and standards while synthesizing and interpreting multiple or conflicting sources of data.
- Utilizing advanced clinical reasoning skills for selection/fabrication of orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment and technology for patients, including those with complex, rare or multiple dysfunctions. Using clinical inquiry in order to meet specific treatment objectives.
- Recording assessments, diagnoses and treatment in patient medical record according to established documentation standards. Preparing reports, correspondence and other materials for schools, providers, insurance carriers and others as needed.
- Planning, organizing and overseeing daily clinical operations of designated area of responsibility. Preparing, monitoring and adjusting patient and staff schedules. Prioritizing, delegating and following up on work assignments in order to meet patient care and service coverage requirements.
- Self identifying, developing and maintaining clinical expertise, professional knowledge and skills through participation and leadership in professional organizations, attendance at conferences and continuing education programs and other related activities.
- Leading and/or participating in patient care rounds, team meetings and departmental or hospital based interdisciplinary committees. Organizing and leading case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings to plan patient care and facilitate integration and coordination of services.
- Providing leadership and supervision to Physical Therapy staff within area of responsibility.
- Developing and implementing quality improvement program for area of responsibility.
- Assists Director/Manager in departmental policy planning and administration.
- May assume the roles of the Managers or Director as indicated
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationship with patients and families. Identifies patients'/families' specific needs and incorporates into patient care as appropriate.
In order to qualify you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and a minimum of five to seven years of previous experience.
- Pediatric experience highly preferred
- Previous PT leadership/program development/supervisory experience highly preferred
- State of MA PT licensure
