PTs use a variety of techniques to help their patients, including hands-on therapy, strengthening and stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice/heat, and much more.RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients to understand their physical condition and developing or following a treatment plan.Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient careCreating personalized fitness-oriented health care programs for patients.Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility.Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patient.Documenting patient care history.Demonstrate ability to work with geriatric residentsOther duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:Degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) requiredCurrent PT license in NYS requiredMust have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patientsMust have up-to-date knowledge for treatment practices and physical therapy programsExperience in long term care preferredMust be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliableStrong customer service skills and compassionABOUT US:Taconic Health Care is a portfolio of three health care facilities in New York state, including: Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Beacon in Beacon; Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Hopewell in Fishkill; and Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Ulster.
