Job Description:

Pay: Base Wage starting at $36; increased based on experience

Incentive Eligible Position: Yes

Essential Functions:

* Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition.

* Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results.

* Develop treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques.

* Create personalized fitness-oriented health care programs for patients.

* Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility.

* Advise patients on exercise techniques.

* Advise patients and their families about in-home treatment options.

* Provide educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote physical health.

* Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

* Document patient care history.

* Comply with rules, regulations, and procedures.

Skills Abilities:

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.

* Ability to complete competency for CPR/First Aid.

* Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.

* Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Effective oral and written communication skills.

* Compassionate and attentive to detail. Ability to manage patients with different personalities.

* Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices.

* Ability to write reports and correspondence at a professional level.

* Ability to use a computer and software proficiently. Drive to continually learn new treatment techniques.

Working Conditions:

* Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.

* Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.

Physical Demands:

* Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.

* The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements:

* A master degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational institution.

* Passed the National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE).

* A valid license to practice physical therapy.

* Completion of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)-accredited residency program.

Preferred Requirements:

* 2+ years of experience

* Experience in hospital setting preferred.
