DescriptionTITLE: Staff Physical TherapistREPORTS TO: Therapy SupervisorGeneral Description of Work Performed: The Staff Physical Therapist's primary role is to provide quality patient care with efficient and effective daily clinical operations. Provide physical therapy services to Orthopedic Partners patients. Comply with day-to-day department clinical activities. Assure services are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements. Essential Job Functions:
Provide quality physical therapy services to the patients at Orthopedic Partners. Be accountable for performing documentation, clinical and billing, in a timely fashion. Develop and maintain positive relationships with physicians, patients and staff. Demonstrate competency in clinical skills and physical therapy service. Serve as coach, mentor and positive role model. Hold self and others accountable to the highest standards. Align all work and resource management with the facility's mission, vision, philosophies and values, goals and strategic plans. Practice physical therapy in accordance with state and federal laws. Promote an environment that facilitates innovation, creative solutions and empowerment. Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in synthesizing complex evaluation data identifying diagnosis and developing a comprehensive plan of care. Develop and update appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the physician and patient with measurable long and short term goals and define a D/C plan. Follow intervention protocols and alter plan of care appropriately. Select and administer appropriate assessment and treatment techniques. Perform age appropriate competency skills in area of practice and with respect to the individual patient's problems. Establish provision for continuing services/follow up as needed. Discharge patient when goals have been met or medical necessity is no longer indicated. Consistently meet patient care productivity standard as established for job - 2 patients per hour/30 minute schedule. Patient care documentation is timely, legible and efficient. Documentation is concise, pertinent and meets the profession's and department's documentation standard. Accurately bills following Medicare (CCI) guidelines charging two timed codes for each 30 minute encounter and untimed codes if appropriate. Observe OSHA guidelines and risk management in performance of duties. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Full Time Employees: Provide a minimum of 2 opening and 2 closing shifts or modified based upon need of the practice.Part Time Employees: Working hours will be based upon the needs of the practice.Position Requirements:Master's or Doctoral degree of Physical Therapy. Current Physical Therapy license in the state of Connecticut. Current CPR certification. Maintains confidentiality of patient and corporate information. Complete a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education, per year, pertinent to our patient population. Ability to push-pull and manipulate patients, as well as push, pull, stand, and walk 95% of the time Effectively collaborate with peers, physicians and leadership.Objectives:Represent Orthopedic Partners with a positive attitude to enhance patient relationships. Provide appropriate and effective therapy services to patients. Maintain active communications with Supervisor concerning all aspects and recommendations of the therapy practice. Hold self and others accountable to ensure plans lead to successful, measurable results and outcomes; continually improve work process.
