Job Description:
The Staff Physical Therapist is responsible for duties including patient evaluation, program development, program implementation and utilizing techniques and modalities necessary to provide competent physical therapy services to individuals with acquired brain injury and other neurologic diagnoses at all levels of function.With traumatic brain injury, life changes in an instant. Work is performed at the CNS clinic(s) with some work at the residential treatment setting(s) and in the community.BENEFITS:Paid time offExtended sick leaveMedical, dental, and life insurance with optional vision insurance starting the 1st of the month after hirePaid holidays including a floating Personal Observance Day401(k)Professional development assistanceProfessional license renewal reimbursementRESPONSIBILITIES:Initiates and maintains therapeutic programs.Administers initial evaluations, identifies primary impairments, administers appropriate outcome measures, develops and implements appropriate treatment plans.Implements patient treatment programs, including therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, home evaluations with recommendations, orthotic and assistive device recommendations, and therapeutic home programs. Executing these programs may include involving the patients in various types of mobility exercises, neurodevelopment sequence exercises, flexibility exercises and extremity manipulations. In addition, assists with the physical integration of individuals with brain injuries to various types of surfaces including hills, stairs, even and uneven surfaces. This very often requires an ability to provide patients with virtually all levels of assistance from standby to dependent assistance.Provides pain relief modalities including application of hot packs, cold packs, Omni stim units, neuromuscular stimulation unit, transcutaneous nerve stimulation units. Other modalities could include the ability to perform light and deep massage.Keeps constant check on progress to ascertain programs' effectiveness. Reviews and updates patient programs through interim evaluations.Instructs clinic aides of treatment plan to be completed daily. Supervises clinic aides and students and is available at all times to provide advice or treatment.Performs charting and reporting.REQUIREMENTS:Master's Degree or Doctorate level of education required.Current licensure required or license-eligible in state employed.Membership in APTA is desirable.The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It's not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are arrived at each unique case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary is $85,000 - $105,00.00/year.Apply today!
