Ascent Physical Therapy NYC is a small, privately owned and operated, outpatient orthopedic clinic in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Owned and operated by a fellowship trained manual therapist (FAAOMPT) and Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) with over 18 years in the profession, Ascent PT NYC strives to provide the highest level of care to our patients. Our clinic treats patients in a one on one model without the use of aides or assistants. We are seeking a strong, independent candidate who can provide high level musculoskeletal physical therapy assessment and treatments and values patient outcomes. An ideal candidate would hold an advanced manual therapy and/or orthopedic certification or is interested in working towards one. Fellowship hours are available for candidates pursuing FAAOMPT status.

Qualifications:
Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited DPT program
Valid Physical Therapy license in NY state
Strong interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
2+years of outpatient orthopedic experience
Strong clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills
Must be available for a minimum or 25 hours/week (Full time position preferred but we have flexibility to offer part time as well)
Knowledge, interest and experience in manual physical therapy, treating runners and endurance athletes is preferred

Responsibilities/Duties:
Provides physical therapy services including evaluations and treatment in accordance with policy and procedures of state laws and the professional code of ethics
Designs, implements, and modifies therapeutic interventions
Completes documentation in a timely manner that is consistent with all laws and regulatory requirements
Practices in a safe manner that minimizes risk to patients, self, and others
Updates clinical skills through continuing education programs, professional contacts, journal articles, and participation in professional organization
Provides outreach and on site support for local events such as injury prevention education and workshops
Assists and participates in in-service presentations
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion and provides care and maintenance of facility equipment
Complies with dress code policy – wearing logo shirt or business casual attire
