Physical TherapistSTARTING RATE: $33.66 (paying $33.66 - 44.35 per hour, depending on experience)SHIFT: Per DiemJOB DESCRIPTION: A Physical Therapist performs treatments and exercises to help patients recover from illnesses and injuries. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients to understand their physical condition and developing or following a treatment plan
- Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care
- Creating personalized fitness-oriented healthcare programs for patients
- Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility
- Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patients
- Documenting patient care history
- Demonstrate ability to work with geriatric residents
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) required
- Current PT license in NYS required
- Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age-specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients
- Must have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs
- Experience in long-term care preferred
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
- Strong customer service skills and compassion
