As part of our commitment to supporting the holistic development of our students, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team.
Position Overview: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will collaborate with our licensed physical therapist to provide high-quality therapy services to students with diverse physical and developmental needs. The PTA will play a key role in implementing individualized education plans, facilitating therapeutic exercises and activities, and supporting students' gross motor needs in the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct physical therapy services to students under the supervision of our licensed physical therapist.
* Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans designed to address students' physical challenges and promote functional mobility in the educational setting.
* Conduct therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve strength, coordination, balance, and range of motion.
* Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive devices to support students in accessing their educational environment and participating in daily activities.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to integrate therapy goals into the student's educational program.
* Monitor and document student progress, communicate effectively with the supervising physical therapist, and participate in ongoing evaluation and planning.
* Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies for promoting students' physical development and independence.
Qualifications:
* Valid certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
* Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
* Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
* Strong understanding of pediatric physical therapy principles and practices, including motor development, gait training, and therapeutic techniques.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the needs of diverse students.
