Position Overview:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the direction and supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to provide rehabilitative services to residents with mobility issues, injuries, or illnesses. The PTA will assist in the execution of treatment plans to improve patient function, promote healing, and facilitate a higher quality of life. This role requires a dedicated, patient-focused professional who is capable of providing compassionate care and accurate documentation of patient progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and use equipment to alleviate symptoms and improve residents' functionality.
- Monitor and document patients' responses to treatment and report significant changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on post-treatment care and exercises to ensure a successful recovery.
- Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment by adhering to facility protocols and industry standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and evaluation of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Alabama state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
