Our Client, a Medical Center Company, is looking for Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for their Boston, MA location Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls.
- Schedule appointments.
- Massage and stretch muscles where necessary.
- Set up therapy equipment.
- Sanitize therapy area.
- Lift or move patients.
- Monitor patients during sessions.
- Guide patients through exercises where necessary.
- Brief patients and their families on after-therapy care.
Requirements
- 2+yrs of PTA experience with 1 year in the acute care environment
- MA PTA licensure, CPR
- IP Rehab is made up of PT and OT.
- We provide coverage throughout IP floors.
- Pt seen include birth - elderly, can have varying impairments related to musculoskeletal, neuro, cardiopulmonary, & post-surgical diagnoses.
- Must be familiar with the acute care hospital setting, have excellent pt handling skills & transfer techniques, good communicator, comfortable working with other members of the team (i.e. nursing, MD, Case management), strong time management skills, self-directed, flexible & able to multitask.
- Goal productivity is 6 hours in an 8-hour day. Assistants usually manage a patient list of 8-10 pt and are usually able to see between 7-9 pt.
Pref Exp:
- Familiarity in working with pt in a fast paced hospital setting, ICU exp, working with diverse pt populations, EPIC
