Responsible for working within a multi-physician inpatient hospital setting and provide first assist services primarily, but not limited to the General Surgery Service. Surgical assist may also be required for Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, GYN/Oncology and Vascular Surgery. Responsibilities will also include inpatient and Emergency Department care within normal scope of practice and as directed by the supervising physician(s). The Surgical Physician Assistant will also assess patients; obtain comprehensive history and physical exams; perform hospital rounds and write notes; order and perform routine diagnostic procedures; order and interpret routine laboratory values, develop and implement treatment plans; monitor therapeutic interventions; provide instruction and counseling to meet the patient and floor staff need as well as institute and change orders as directed by the supervising physician. This candidate will participate in the surgical night/weekend call schedule. # Required: Graduate of an accredited PA program. NCCPA board certification, NYS license or qualification for state licensure is required.# The candidate will have at least 2 years of General Surgery experience.#Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications.# Hold and maintain all required certifications to practice in an OASAS certified addiction program (Only required for#PAs working with Chemical Dependency).### # Starting salary is $110,000/annually
