Position Summary:The Physician Assistant - Urgent Care is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. This role involves conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and performing various medical procedures. The Physician Assistant will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive timely and effective care.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute medical conditions, including minor injuries, infections, and other urgent health issues.
- Perform medical procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and administering injections.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in the delivery of patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous learning opportunities within the urgent care setting.
Required Qualifications:
- Certification: Board Certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Licensure: Current and valid New York State (NYS) License as a Physician Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an urgent care or emergency care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
