Reports to:Medical Director; Practice Manager

Rate of Pay:$182,100 - $218,500 annually for full-time status; part-time or per diem status compensation will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours

Work Schedule:Flexible within Monday-Friday, daytime Health Center hours; no evenings, weekends, major holidays, or on-call; full-time, part-time, or per diem schedules are available

Position Summary:The Physician shall provide high-quality medical care by examining patients and treating injuries, ailments, and diseases, as well as educating patients on the prevention and promotion of healthy habits at Community Health Center of the North Country.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.

+ Prescribe appropriate pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatments to assess medical conditions.

+ Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate.

+ Follow established departmental policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

+ Develop and recommend policies and procedures governing patient care to the Board of Directors per generally accepted standards of professional practice.

+ Responsible for supervising the quality assurance program and reporting the program's activities to the Board of Directors.

+ Provide appropriate supervision and/or serve as a collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Providers

+ Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

+ Medical doctor with five-plus years of directly related experience.

+ Current, registered New York State license to practice medicine.

+ Current Board certification

+ Current DEA certification

+ Strong organizational and planning skills.

+ Ability to maintain good working relationships with others.

+ Exhibits a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with issues.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., lift and support patients with and without help.

+ Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.

+ Regular exposure to infectious diseases, blood and airborne pathogens, needle sticks, hygiene issues, and other odors.

+ Able to tolerate clinical smells.

+ Ability to read digital readouts, recognize colors, and operate necessary medical equipment.

+ Ability to operate mechanical devices used by patients.

+ Ability to wear necessary hospital masks, gowns, gloves, and close-toed shoes.
