About the Role:
Tulane Cancer Center is an emerging NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of physicians, scientists, and other healthcare workers. Research and Clinical Trials:
Trial 1: Tomosynthesis Mammographic Imaging Screening
- A randomized screening trial to compare the diagnostic accuracy of screening for breast cancer using three-dimensional digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) plus two-dimensional full-field digital mammography (FFDM).
- The same comparison using two-dimensional full-field digital mammography (FFDM) alone.
Trial 2: Evaluation of De-Escalation of Breast Radiation (DEBRA)
- This Phase III Trial evaluates whether breast conservation surgery and endocrine therapy results in a non-inferior rate of invasive or non-invasive ipsilateral breast tumor recurrence (IBTR) compared to breast conservation with breast radiation and endocrine therapy.
