The psychiatrist will offer comprehensive psychiatric care to elderly and infirmed patients at a long term care facility.Job Quick Facts:• Ref#: BD-713-01• Speciality: Psychiatry• Job Type: Contract• Location: Woodbury, NJ• Facility Type: LTC facility• Service Setting: Inpatient• Coverage Period: Oct 10, 2024 - Feb 28, 2025• Coverage Type : Clinical + Call• Shift/Call Schedule: 24-hr shifts- 1 days/week (Mandatory)- And on-call as needed• Patient Demographic: Geriatrics (Age: 70-101)• No. of Visits: 4-6 per week• Support Staff: Yes• Rate: $235 - $260/hrRequirements:• Active NJ license• BC• DEA• Experience in long term care facilities preferredResponsibilities:• Provide routine and consultative psychiatric services to residents of the long term care facility, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.• Notify the Facility Administrator or Director of Nursing of any changes in services affecting residents, including but not limited to changes in the Psychiatrist.• Evaluate all new admissions with psychiatric diagnoses or on psychiatric medications.• Conduct annual evaluations for residents diagnosed with psychiatric conditions, Alzheimer's, or dementia.• Coordinate with the administration to arrange coverage during vacations as needed.• Provide grief counseling for residents and staff on an as-needed basis.• Schedule services at least once per month.• Work towards achieving the lowest effective medication dosage, documenting attempts to titrate medications twice a year, along with reasons for not titrating when applicable.
