This position is located in the Specialty Medicine Service Line. The Physician provides consultation services and follow-up of medical subspecialty patients, in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate, triage, and prioritize requests from Primary Care providers and others for outpatient hematology/oncology subspecialty consultations.
  • Obtain medical histories, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment.
  • Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other medical personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system.
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
  • Provide Hematology/Oncology on-call services as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Preferred Experience:

    • Board Certified/Eligible.
    • 3 years experience in Oncology.
