West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Orthopaedics seek a hand surgeon qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of hand surgery. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Candidates must have completed orthopaedic surgery residency and hand surgery fellowship. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Orthopaedic surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
The successful candidate will join the hand service that includes four full-time orthopaedic hand faculty. Our goal is expertise in all sub-specialty areas of Orthopaedics, including spine, total joint replacement, sports medicine, foot and ankle, hand, pediatrics, trauma, and musculoskeletal oncology. Our faculty are fellowship trained and respected nationally, but we emphasize more than surgical expertise - our mission is to provide excellence in patient care and customer service in the delivery of that care. As a part of a major academic teaching center, we use a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment and education of our patients. Our physicians have easy access to a full range of specialists and a variety of opinions, including orthopaedic sub-specialists and experts from the WVU Spine Center.
