WCS Healthcare is working with Suffolk County's top Health System who has an immediate opening in their Pain Management Practice. This is a full time Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm role with No Weekends! Job Function: Prepare your patient care area adequately, ensuring availability of necessary pain management equipment and supplies. Perform pre-procedure calls, evaluate for any contraindications for the procedure, evaluate patient knowledge of upcoming procedure and educate as needed. Conduct a complete history, physical and psychological assessment to evaluate your patient prior to any procedure. Monitoring of patients under sedation during procedures. Monitoring post-procedure patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and providing updates to the treatment team as needed. Treating pain, nausea, and other post-procedure symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed. Educating patients and their families on post-procedure care, as well as answering questions. Assess post nerve block patients for changes to pain and the duration of relief. Triage patient messages on RN phone line and respond to patient messages and assess patient condition.
