Education- Must have an M.S. in Medical Physics or appropriate field
Experience / Qualifications- Board certification or board eligible in Medical Physics. Florida License is mandatory
- Preferred experience in clinical radiation oncology physics.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and make good sound decisions, possess good hand-eye coordination, be alert and self motivated and listen intently.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Radiation Oncologist(s) and the Administrative Director, the Physicist provides continuing physics support to the department including:
- Treatment planning for stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy, external radiotherapy and brachytherapy
- Periodic machine calibrations including but not limited to Accuray Cyberknife M6 unit, Varian Trilogy Unit, Liac e-IORT machine, Nucletron HDR unit
- Documentation of surveys, calibrations etc. as required
- Radiation Safety Committee member
- ACR, JACHO, ACHA etc, preparation as needed
- Will assist in the development of new projects as needed to keep abreast of the latest advances in the field
- Performs other duties as assigned
