Schedules & rates of pay: 7:00AM until 4:30PM Rate of Pay $14/hour OR 4:30PM until 3:00AM Rate of Pay $15/hr Job Summary: The Picker/Packer will be responsible for examining and inspecting containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packaging specifications are met. It will be essential that the Picker/Packer supports and integrates Sizemore's core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety and Teamwork into the daily performance of assigned responsibilities.
Responsibilities: - Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met.
- Counts products and materials.
- Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
- Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tools.
- Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.
- Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools.
- Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
- Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
- Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment, such as conveyors, or in specified areas, such as loading docks. Load materials and products into package processing equipment.
- Drives a culture of constant improvement, identifying and implementing changes to increase productivity and efficiency of service.
- Enforces Sizemore's policies and procedures as needed.
- Additional duties assigned, as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or recipient of GED preferred but not required.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Demonstrate a commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
- Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm as well as diplomacy when dealing with any person no matter the circumstances.
- Possess initiative and sound judgement in evaluating and reacting to situations.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time sensitive situations.
- Possess problem-solving skills with high attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, read/comprehend detailed instructions and process information with accuracy and clarity.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Working Conditions: - Must be able to work in an environment that is cold.
- Must wear clothing appropriate for working conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
