Duties and Responsibilities
* Direct and supervise the crews on the project site.
* Performs installation of pipe, fittings, valves, and piping systems.
* Responsible for installing and potentially managing mechanical projects on-site.
* Work independently on routine projects with limited supervision.
* Oversee, supervise, and ensure the proper completion of work when performed and assisted by assigned helpers.
* Install, diagnose and repair/replace pipe, fitting, and components for piping systems such above and below grade.
* Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
* Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role by enrolling or participating in meetings, workshops, training and seminars.
* Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, and punctuality.
* Perform piping takeoffs including the ability to layout pipe.
* Must fill out documentation in a legible manner
* Conduct safety tailgate meetings.
Job Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
* One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or raining; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
* Three or more years pipe fitting experience.
* Ability to obtain and maintain access to customer facilities through background checks and successful safety training testing.
* Experience in maintaining job site documentation, i.e. time sheets, As-Built drawings.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
* Hand tool, power tool, and pipe fitting experience.
* Ability to operate heavy equipment.
* Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
* Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to forty pounds.
* Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to forty feet, working in ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
* Ability to work alternative shifts or weekends and to travel upon request to meet customer installation schedule.
