Aquatech immediately needs a full-time Piping Engineer to work in our Canonsburg, PA office. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Piping Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will be creative, have good communication skills, be team-oriented, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be customer service oriented.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

* Five (5) or more years of experience

Job Description:

* Prepare and issue a project-specific Mechanical Design plan.

* Work on Hydraulic Calculahydraulic Flow Diagrams (HFDs) for Water and Wastewater projects.

* Prepare Piping specifications required for the project.

* Maintain Plant 3D component database (Building the piping specification database file, adding the new component to the correct piping specifications).

* Prepare specifications, datasheets, and requisitions for mechanical components such as valves, strainers, expansion bellows, etc.

* Review detailed design outputs such as civil input drawings, plant layout drawings, piping layouts, skid/module arrangements, piping isometrics, and structural drawings (outputs from Mechanical designers).

* Attending internal progress review meetings organized by Projects.

* Attending technical review meetings with customers as required.

* Being the interface for the Mechanical department when interacting with other engineering departments and with the Aquatech assembly shop.

* Support queries from site and subcontractors.

Skill Requirements:

* Knowledge of piping codes ASME B31.1 / 31.3.

* Exposure to water treatment & wastewater treatment processes would be a plus.

* Knowledge of Plant engineering - Layout considerations and piping layouts.

* Knowledge (or awareness) of ASME, ANSI, and AWWA codes for pressure vessels, tanks & structural design codes.

* Knowledge of hydraulic flow, pressure loss concepts in pipelines, and open channel flows

* Exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/ Plant 3D preferred).

* Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel-based spreadsheets.
