Pipe Technician I - Entry Level
The City of Cumberland will be accepting applications for the position of Pipe Technician I - Entry Level in the Sanitary Sewers/Flood Division of the Utilities Department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Completion of the Pipe Technician I Certification Program. One or two years of previous experience of a mechanic, construction or public works nature. Possession of a valid Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of hire or employee will be terminated. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: This position requires an individual possessing the abilities and skills to perform a variety of routine tasks that take minimal levels of training regarding execution and safety while working in a team environment. Individuals are assigned to either the Water or Waste Water Departments, and may be required to perform duties in either department during emergencies or other extraordinary circumstances. Employees are considered to be essential personnel and therefore must report to work as scheduled under all weather conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to assume awkward positions for long periods of time. Heavy Work: Exerts up to 90 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.. There is a routine risk of exposure to various chemical, biological, electrical, noise and all weather conditions.

SALARY: $ 38,792 annually
