Pipeline Engineer

We're looking for a Pipeline Engineer I to join a leading Oil and Gas company in Midland, TX for a long-term contract position.

As a Pipeline Engineer, you will be essential in delivering engineering support for brownfield pipeline modifications. This position focuses on practical, hands-on design work. You will develop comprehensive engineering packages and ensure their smooth handover to the execution team. The role is primarily based in Midland, TX, with periodic travel to Carlsbad, NM.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with operations teams to deliver engineering solutions and troubleshoot pressure differentials and other operational challenges.
• Apply fundamental pipeline design skills, including sizing pipelines and integrating various valve types.
• Create engineering packages tailored for execution by field teams, ensuring detailed and accurate documentation.
• Work closely with operations to facilitate smooth implementation and provide on-the-spot engineering expertise.
• Focus on practical design modifications that enhance the reliability and performance of existing pipeline systems.

Requirements:

• Solid background in pipeline engineering and operations.
• Proactive team player who thrives in working with field and operations teams.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to manage design challenges in a practical setting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• 2-7 years of experience

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to draft and review designs using AutoCAD is a significant plus.
• Experience running pipeline simulations using PIPESYM is highly desirable.
• Basic hands-on knowledge of pipeline operations and troubleshooting.
