Job Title: Pipewelder ALocation: Pascagoula, MS, USPosition Level: Non-ExecutiveJob Type: Full TimeGENERAL FUNCTION: The pipewelder welds together piping metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions. The pipewelder utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
- Weld prefabricated piping components using various welding procedures as outlined in blueprints or specifications.
- Chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter using a power grinder, chipping gun, or manual hammer.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of pipe welding procedures and safety requirements.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- 3 years of experience pipe welding experience.
- In some cases, ABS (American Bureau of Shipbuilding) certification is required to confirm competency in different areas of pipe welding procedures.
