CDI Engineering Solutions is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.

Position Summary:

Provide technical and managerial leadership to the Piping Design Department in the Houston Engineering Center.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership in design.

Assign/hire personnel to meet project assignments.

Develop and mentor designers.

Develop man-hour estimates.

Lead the development and implementation of discipline specific work instructions.

Audit the quality, budget, and schedule for the department.

Experience with communicating and coordinating budget and schedule constraints with High Value Engineering Center (HVEC).

Qualifications:

Ideal candidate would have a minimum of 20 years of experience in Piping Engineering or Piping Design.

Capable of working on support level tasks in addition to being the Department Manager (working Manager).

Experience executing multidiscipline engineering projects for industrial clients such as chemical plants, refineries, and terminals.

Experience using laser scanning and 3D design software (CadWorx, PDMS, PDS, etc.) to design industrial piping system.

Experience developing and implementing work processes that streamline execution and result in no touch isometric piping drawings.

Experience with all phases of industrial projects from FEED through construction.

Experience effectively balancing manpower on multiple schedules driven projects with competing priorities.

Experience interviewing and hiring talented resources to build a successful team.

Experience leading, managing, and developing resources.

Able to perform field walks, man-hour estimates, training sessions, and quality audits.

Must have excellent communication skills and be able to thrive in a dynamic team environment

Education Requirements:

Associates Degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
