The Washington Wild Things are in search of pitch clock operators for the 2025 season. The position is a paid seasonal position to work on gamedays at Wild Things Park in Washington, PA. The successful candidate(s) will report to the Vice President of Baseball Operations as well as the team's GM. The person(s) will set up and tear down the equipment each gameday and monitor and reset the pitch clock timers following every pitch and to the rules of the Frontier League in regards to the clock and timing on field. Extensive knowledge of baseball and its pace of play as well as an attention to detail and ability to learn and know the rules quickly is required.Qualificiations:
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and any holiday games on the schedule for the 2023 season
- Strong communication skills
- Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands
- Must be able to lift, pull, push and/or carry 50 pounds as necessary
- Ability to stand, sit and walk for up to 6-8 hours
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Extensive knowledge of baseball and its pace of play
- Team player
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and reset pitch clock timers following every pitch and when rules call for other resets and countdowns
- Operate equipment quickly and efficiently including set up and shut down before and after each game
- Troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly
- Be courteous, friendly, reliable and punctual
- Work with official scorer, umpires and select Washington Wild Things personnel in interpreting results and violations of the pitch clock in conjunction with official rules and regulations from the Frontier League
- All other duties as assigned
