Planned Giving OfficerJob Summary: The Planned Giving Officer at Hendrix College plays a pivotal role within the Advancement Team, focusing on cultivating relationships with alumni, parents, and friends of the College to secure planned gifts that support the institution's mission and strategic priorities. This position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive planned giving program designed to increase the College's endowment and ensure long-term financial stability.This is a full-time, 12-month administrative staff position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Work closely with Advancement leadership to design and implement a strategic plan for the planned giving program aligned with Hendrix College's fundraising goals and priorities. Donor Cultivation: Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with current and prospective planned giving donors through personalized communication and engagement strategies. Gift Solicitation: Actively solicit planned gifts, including bequests, charitable trusts, annuities, and other planned giving vehicles, utilizing a donor-centered approach. Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in the Advancement Team, including major gifts officers and annual giving staff, to integrate planned giving strategies into overall fundraising efforts. Recognition and Stewardship: Work collaboratively with the Advancement team to properly recognize and steward planned giving donors to ensure they feel valued and continuously connected to Hendrix College. Education and Outreach: Conduct seminars, workshops, and individual meetings to educate donors, professional advisors, and Hendrix College staff and faculty about the benefits of planned giving. Administration: Manage the administration of planned gifts, including tracking and reporting on progress towards goals, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Marketing and Communication: Manage and maintain the planned giving website and work closely with the Communications team on marketing materials to strategically promote planned giving tools and vehicles to target audiences.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Certifications like CFRE, CSPG, and/or CFP preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planned giving, major gifts fundraising, or related field.
- Demonstrated success in securing planned gifts and cultivating donor relationships.
- Strong understanding of estate planning, tax laws related to charitable giving, and other planned giving vehicles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
