Production Planner AquaPhoenix Scientific, headquartered in Hanover, PA has an immediate opening for full-time Production Planner. This is a full-time, first shift, hourly, non-exempt position with full benefits and no direct reports. The Production Planner is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of daily production runs and projects. Must be able to successfully guide and synchronize the flow of materials, labor assignments, project priorities, and WIP (work in progress). Must ensure manufacturing, safety, quality, and shipping goals are met daily. While working under minimum supervision, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to plan, arrange, and execute production schedules in a small volume, high-mix custom production environment with a goal to achieve 100% on time delivery. Although not all inclusive, some additional job responsibilities and skills will include:
- Work in collaboration with production operations management to prioritize daily production jobs.
- Provide updates, identify bottlenecks, and review material or potential labor shortages and/or last-minute change orders. Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between the inventory and production departments according to the production schedule for multiple locations.
- Recommend and coordinate procedures for the effective planning, scheduling, utilization of materials, equipment, labor, warehousing, and shipping to provide on-time products to customers in a cost-effective manner.
- Generate work orders and take responsibility to ensure all orders are completed to customer standards throughout the entire production life cycle. Check and verify inventory, production priorities, and personnel; schedule and assign accordingly.
- Maintain a constant focus dedicated to quality control, on-time delivery, safety, and process validation activities throughout the planning and scheduling process.
- Update and report on daily/weekly project tracker. Participate in production related meetings as required to resolve open action items associated with production and scheduling.
- Participate and support Lean and Kanban initiatives to ensure cost, quality, logistics, customer needs, and production goals are consistently achieved, and on-going improvements are sustained.
- Comprehend a wide range of manufacturing processes; utilize capacity planning tools, industry related software, and SOPs. Make recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
- Proactively communicate daily goals, timeline, set-backs, analysis, resolutions, and progress reports to production management.
AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Production Planner position will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three or more years' work experience directly related to coordinating production planning and scheduling and/or an advanced degree in business management or related field of study. Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Sound math and analytical skills with the ability to make decisions, notice errors, and perform basic calculations such as add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Comprehend English language with the ability to communicate through reading, speaking and writing.
- Basic computer skills required to input data, print/track orders, and perform numerous tasks related to the production and shipping process.
- Ability to follow instructions for operations and scheduling.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner with the ability to perform task through to completion.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season.
- Maintain a clean & safe working environment.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by Company and OSHA standards.
- Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as required.
