We hope you'll join us and see what the smiling pink whale is all about Overview: Planner-Outlet is primarily responsible for analyzing, identifying, and communicating sales and inventory opportunities to key partners and providing risk-mitigation recommendations. In addition, the Planner will be expected to meaningfully contribute to broader strategic and resource planning conversations across the company. Key Responsibilities:
- Independently develop, execute, and communicate Merchandise Financial Plans (OTB) and strategies to support company Merchandise, Marketing, and Financial objectives
- Communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to management and cross-functional team on a weekly basis
- Knowledge of competitive promotional outlet environment
- Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and category
- Provide hindsight analysis and partner with Merchandising on future product positioning and opportunities
- Present financial forecast alongside inventory position, and supporting action plans in monthly Open to Buy meetings
- Partner with full price teams to move residual inventory- pricing and tiering based on business needs
- Manage core/basic product inventory levels and forecast replenishment buys to support sales forecasts. Partner with production and sourcing partners to ensure optimal flow of receipts is achieved.
- Create pre-season plans at department level including all financial components
- Create unit buys at the SKU level and manage the product life cycle
- Demonstrates the ability to carefully listen and collaborate with others at all levels in the organization
What You Bring:
- Prior experience managing Open to Buy and speaking in monthly forecasts to senior management and cross-functional partners
- Minimum 3+ years of dedicated planning experience and managing an OTB
- Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements: sales, gross margin, weeks of supply, inventory turn, sell through, etc. and how to impact them
- Ability to negotiate with and influence peers, members of a cross-functional team, and management
- Strong interpersonal communication
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills. An understanding and adherence to all policies related to the organization
- Organizational skills are essential as well as the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines. Flexibility to pivot tasks as new priorities arise.
- Team focused, confident, and professional
- Ability to effectively receive and provide feedback
- Previous vertical retail planning experience a plus
- Advanced excel skills (pivot tables, ylookups a must)
- Experience working with JDA/Blue Yonder planning systems a must
- Experience working with PowerBI
