Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this positionPosition Responsibilities Makes reasoned decisions in the execution of materials processes (authority to take action deemed necessary); identifies, analyzes, and recommends solutions for exception and variance situations Assists in the development and implementation of programs and policies, e.g. inventory reduction, cash flow, supplier development, etc. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and develops recommendations based on quantitative analysis (as appropriate, gain approval and participate in implementation). May function as team leader or project manager. Develops programs at the plant operations level or for specific programs at a division level. Analyzes, recommends, and implements improvement plans for:o Materials handling and movemento Staging and storage systemso Material flow studieso Slow-moving inventoryo Obsolescenceo Inventory turnso QC hold Analyzes existing plans to even the workload across work centers to maximize productivity and service level. Analyzes sales requirements by exception for those items that are grossly incorrect. Recommends forecast adjustments to the appropriate personnel.
