Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules and timelines to support a monthly shipment goal of 95% OTD or better.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (But not limited to the following)

  • Creates and publishes production schedules to support monthly shipment commitments.
  • Handles all production planning and management of the ERP system, launching work orders to the shop, and rescheduling as needed,
  • Verify and manage raw material, hardware, multi-level production, and finished goods inventory. Communicate raw material shortages with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Manage the integrity of ERP production planning with the Production Control Manger.
  • Manage statuses of all launched work orders that are in production.
  • Update and present production and milestone charts in weekly line walks
  • Communicate with Production Control Manager regarding order schedules changes, and delays.
  • Perform PO Contract Reviews in production que.
  • Communicate with Sales Department regarding due dates, recovery dates, delays, or holds.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments to move parts from MRP and resolve any holds. This may include coordinating the split of work orders and adding rework operations to work orders when necessary.
  • Manage the Work to Start Report to ensure that work orders are being launched on time.
  • Play a backup role in the shipping department with documentation and schedule of shipments. This includes assisting with Data Packs, Certification of Conformances, accessing ASNs and Customer Portals.
  • In accordance with the companies' policies, promote safety by working in a safe manner at all times.
  • Prepare various reports as required, including backlog report, customer status, metrics, and update sheets.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning using an ERP system.
  • Aerospace experience preferred.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Higher education preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP database applications
  • Strong communications skills required, both oral and written
  • Basic math skills required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Intermediate or better in Excel preferred
  • Perform job with minimum of supervision
  • Work within a team environment
  • Respond with sensitivity to people of diverse perspectives

Employee is required to be alert and use caution around moving material. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
