There is one (1) vacancy in theDepartment of Planning and Permitting,Planning Division, Development Plans & Zone Changes Branch. Your duties andresponsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
* Participate in the development and updates of long-range regional plans and special area plans.
* Monitoring compliance with conditions of unilateral agreements (UAs) via reviewing and commenting on various applications and plans. Reviewing annual reports and updating staff monitoring reports for UAs.
* Assists with reviewing affordable housing projects for compliance with applicable requirementspursuant tothe UAs and Chapter 29 ROH, from the entitlement phase to the post-construction phase.
* Independently reviewing, evaluating and drafting reports recommending action on proposals for zone change and zoning district boundary adjustment.
* Conduct research by gathering and analyzing land use, economic, socialandenvironmental data related to assigned projects.
* Responding to inquiries and perform other related duties as assigned.
You must be knowledgeable about:
* Principles, practices, purposes, and scope of techniques of the various phases of city planning;
* Trends in Federal, State and local planning as they affect city planning;
* Research methodology and statistical procedures;
* Sources and uses of socio-economic information; and
* State and local laws and ordinances related to city planning.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with major work in city planning, architecture, engineering, economics, sociology, public administration or a related field.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Four years of professional (post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) experience in architecture, engineering, or socio-economic research, including or supplemented by two years of professional work experience in city planning or related planning activities.
Substitution:
1) A Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from a regionally-accredited college/university may be substituted for two years of architecture, engineering, or socio-economic research experience.
2) A Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from a regionally-accredited college/university may be substituted for two years of architecture, engineering, or socio-economic research experience and one year of city planning experience.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
