Job Description:
Summary: Supervise Assistant Floor Supervisors, Production Workers and Utility Workers, assigned to his/her work department. Schedule and assign work to meet production demands.Essential Duties:
  • Report to the Production Office what production supplies are needed to meet production demands. Notify Production Manager of material deficiencies that will affect production output.
  • Responsible for assigning work to Assistant Floor Supervisors to meet the production demands. Report any possible delays in meeting shipping deadlines to the Production Manager.
  • Responsible for overseeing machinery and tools in the Wood Production Area. All equipment repair needs are to be reported immediately to the Production Manager. Ensure all tools are returned to their holding area at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area in compliance with OSHA requirements and Plant 1's safety committee's regulations.
  • Ensure through first piece inspection with Quality Control that all jobs are set up accurately. Monitor quality to ensure product being ran is of acceptable quality at all times on all packing projects according to ISO procedures.
  • Maintain production levels (as per set norms) and report progress and/or problems with employees to Production Manager. Report any unusual variances in productivity levels to the Production Manager.
  • Inform the Production Manager daily of any problems that will affect shipment of production and/or next department.
  • Responsible for scrap monitoring and monitoring disposal in wood working department.
  • Process all accidents and accident reports in a timely manner to the Production Manager.
  • Supervise and Train all Assistant Floor Supervisors.
  • Oversee attendance and reporting to Production Manager as issues arise.
  • Be able to frequently lift up to and move up to 50 pounds independently and if required up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • All other duties deemed necessary.

  • Valid Driver's license with excellent driving record.
  • Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department, i.e. overtime.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to listen to what is said and act upon it appropriately.
  • Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment and plan and organize workload.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office product. (computer literate)
  • Accepts responsibility and demonstrates leadership.
  • Is able to multitask effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Trustworthy- Able to keep business confidences as required.
  • Open minded- Willing to embrace change.
  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
