Location: Independence, VAPosition OverviewThe Plant Controller will oversee the financial operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to company policies and GAAP standards. This role aims to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency through in-depth financial analysis and process improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports for the plant
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations
- Conduct cost accounting functions to monitor product costing and inventory valuation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal auditing standards
- Collaborate with operations to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Oversee month-end close processes and ensure timely reporting
- Analyze labor costs and overhead allocations for accuracy
- Lead the financial aspects of inventory management and valuation
- Support external audits as required
- Provide financial analysis and data mining to support operational decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and financial reporting
- Experience in cost accounting
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
