We're seeking an experienced Plant Controller in Phoenix, Arizona to oversee internal cost accounting, management reporting, and financial functions with a global manufacturing and distribution company. This role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting and optimizing manufacturing operations and will have two direct reports. Responsibilities:
- Provide financial guidance to plant managers and core management teams.
- Analyze spending in key areas like labor, scrap, and inventory.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Support physical inventory reporting and cycle count analysis.
- Maintain general ledger and process transactions.
- Participate in month-end close activities.
- Monitor asset additions, transfers, and disposals.
- Assist with accounts payable process.
- Improve processes and controls for manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Review excess/obsolete inventory and conduct monthly reconciliations.
- Analyze work orders for accuracy.
- Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; and/or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in process manufacturing with cost accounting expertise.
- SQL or strong Excel experience pulling data.
- Experience with big manufacturing ERP systems ie. Dynamics, JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft D365 ERP system.
- CMA, CPA a plus.
