The Controller will ensure timely and accurate reporting for the Plant through both routine and ad hoc reporting requests while ensuring internal control compliance and adherence to company financial policies. This position will supervise the plant accounting department. Main focuses will be employee development, financial analysis, internal controls review, annual budgets, weekly estimates, month end closing, special ad hoc projects and presentations as needed. Functions also include participation on profit improvement teams (PIP) and abilities to back-up functions including: General Manager, Warehouse Controller, and Assistant Controller. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure appropriate support of all amounts contained in plant balance sheet
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of results, including statistical data
- Train, develop and audit direct reporta
- Lead development of mission, vision and KPI's of accounting department
- Lead lean manufacturing initiative within and out of accounting
- Training and facilitating
- Developing and improving KPI's
- Heavy ad hoc reporting and analysis using Excel and other systems
- Observe external audit preparation and completion annually
- Ensure existence and adherence to internal controls
- Lead weekly estimates and annual budgets
- Participate in month end closings including analysis, inventory and financial audits, observe quarterly balance sheet reviews
- Ensure appropriate level of cross training in the accounting department
- Audit inventory cycle count results while participating in counts
- Ensure missing procedures are created as needed and Essential Function procedures are current and accurate
- Continuously improve on all departmental KPI's
- Work autonomous and have the ability to effectively multitask
- Complies with safety regulations and corporate guidelines on business ethics
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Minimum Bachelor Degree in accounting or equivalent experience. Preferred Master's in accountancy, business or finance or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge Requirements: Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); reading and writing command of the English language. Intermediate Excel skills including: formulas and pivot tables.
- Preferred skills: SAP, MS Visio, ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years in a manufacturing environment.

- Ability and willingness to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment.
- Must be able to wear safety glasses, ear protection, and steel toed shoes on the job.
- Expect and be able to accommodate short notice for overtime and weekend work schedules as needed.
