DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Observe and analyze the throughput of various raw materials, products and other items in order to assess the efficiency of the current manufacturing processes in place, with an emphasis on cost-benefit analysis. Compare daily/weekly outputs with the bill of materials (BOM) and the manufacturing routes to determine whether more effective processes can be achieved. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor daily BOM looking for significant variations indicating issues along the manufacturing process and report to Departmental Manager/Production Supervisor so that corrective actions may be taken. • Meet with Plant Management and Production Supervisors to address any issues or variations along the production line. • Create weekly operation reports for plant management to review, providing input as necessary. • Ensure accurate submission of Maintenance Request Orders (MRO) purchase orders, etc. • Identify areas along the manufacturing processes with room for improvement in terms of efficiency. • Enter data into enterprise regional programs (ERP) for accurate tracking of materials and inventory. • Review labor hours to ensure adequate usage of personnel along production line, making sure to note any downtime. • Track all supplies order through MRO manager, ensuring accurate documentation is kept. • Provide batch and tracking information in the event of a recall or possible contamination threat. • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations. • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies. • Follow SugarCreek safety rules and procedures. • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High school degree or equivalent (GED), or equivalent experience; Associate's Degree in Accounting preferred. EXPERIENCE: Five to ten years in Inventory Control and Production Orders, preferably in food industry. CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: None. ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED • Able to use critical thinking to troubleshoot production issues. • Able to identify statistical variations from large quantities of data. • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. • Possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills and excellent time management skills. • Know how to apply basic mathematic skills, specifically with arithmetic. • Possess strong computer skills, especially with ERP software and Microsoft Office. OTHER REQUIREMENTS No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with plant accounting positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 15lbs may be required as needed. Some travel may be required in between plants. WORK ENVIRONMENT Some travel to other locations is required. Most work is performed in a comfortable, indoor, office-like facility. Some work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment.
