You will play a critical role in helping Owens Corning meet our Sustainability goals by decreasing the amount of energy used to produce our products and the carbon emissions associated with energy consumption. The incumbent will work with a diverse set of stakeholders across the entire organization to achieve results.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Energy Related Capital Projects (50%)* Developing and analyzing project business cases* Performing engineering calculations for energy and cost savings* Estimating project costs* Managing certain strategic projects for on biomass waste to energy solutionsLow Cost- No Cost Improvements (25%)* Identifying energy related low cost- no cost improvement opportunities at our facility* Planning, coordinating, and facilitating on site energy kaizens or treasure hunt events* Mapping and tracking next steps* Following up on identified opportunities until closure* Reporting on implemented opportunitiesAssessments on Energy Consuming Systems (25%)* Conducting field measurements* Performing engineering analyses* Writing high quality reports on findings* Following up on and eliminating barriers to implementing assessment findingsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required. Preferred majors are Energy, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:* Three years' experience in a similar role is desirable.* The Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) are preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:* Strong Professional/Technical Knowledge in Energy Management including but not limited to the areas below:* Electrical Engineering* Biomass Combustion* Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer* HVAC* Compressed Air* Pumps and Fans* Lighting* Steam Systems* Project Management* Project Financial Analysis and Modeling* Carbon Accounting* Renewable Energy* Proficiency in spreadsheet and presentation development* Works independently* Strong written and verbal communications skills* Works well with others in teams* Initiates action and follows up on opportunities until they are implemented#LI-DB1 #LI-ONSITEWe Help People Walk Through WallsWe respect the privacy of candidates for employment.
