Here, you will make an impact by:* Communicate safety principles and regulations to all subordinates, and monitor operations for compliance, to stress safety (of employees, environment and the physical plant) as a primary objective at all times* Schedule, assign, and direct craftspeople in the performance of tasks for the maintenance of equipment and/or facilities* Provide technical direction to craftspeople and assist in diagnosing equipment problems as required to expedite work* Train craftspeople in job requirements and basic technical skills, and recommend training programs as needed to develop and maintain capabilities of workforce* Identify requirements and ensure timely availability of tools, supplies, and parts for projects and ongoing work* Coordinate work schedules with appropriate production units and other Plant Engineering units to expedite work, minimize interruptions in production, and ensure effective utilization of workforce* Implement appropriate Preventive Maintenance programs, and monitor ongoing performance, to maximize the reliability and runtime of equipment* Additional accountabilities as assigned by the General Supervisor, Plant Engineering or Plant Engineering Manager* This is a 3rd Shift Supervisor positionYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:* High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) an accredited institution* Ten (10) years of experience working in a manufacturing setting in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:* Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution* Five (5) years of experience in Supervision in a private, public, government or military environment* Experience as a lead craftsperson and/or a demonstrated aptitude for leadership of craftspeople in the accomplishment of maintenance tasks* Skills include strong troubleshooting skills* Additional skills include analytical thinking, communication, basic computer literacy, and basic leadership skills.* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to think outside the box * Excellent listening, verbal and written communication, reporting and presentation skills* Strong organizational and time management skills* Technical knowledge and practical application skills in mechanical, electrical, or electronics disciplinesWork location: On-siteTravel: May include up to 5% domesticRelocation Assistance: Is not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life - both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
